There are different motivators for implementing an integration platform. Below you will find some examples why more and more companies migrate their maintenance intensive and inflexible "point-to-point" integrations towards a tool-vendor independent and flexible integration platform.

Centralized hosting and operation services for complex IT-Sytems are proof of the intelligent division of work between functional departments and a central IT organization. Moving and unifying systems and applications being operated in different departments towards a central organization, optimizes economic efficiency, availabililty and security and gives functional departments more ressources for customer oriented tasks.
