Enterprise Architect

Our adapter for Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect extends the agosense.symphony integration platform in such a way that user groups, responsible for UML modeling, can be part of the integral development process.


The adapter offers the following features:

• Complete access to all information in EA models (read/write)
• Export of EA diagrams
• Access to the element structure within the models (relationships)

With this adapter based on the agosense.symphony integration platform, you can realize a seamless integration between EA and any system for Requirements Management for instance.

In this example, users create UML use case diagrams to roughly sketch the system to be developed. agosense.symphony transfers this information into the RM tool so requirements engineers will find these use cases represented in their own environment. The fact that they can see the UML diagrams directly within their tool is extremely helpful for a better understanding.

Of course agosense.symphony also takes care of the creation of the existing relationship structure between the elements within the RM tool. During this transformation, reused elements, like for example "actors", will be detected and represented in the RM tool physically only once (no copies or duplicates). But they will be used, of course, in order to relate to diagrams and use case elements. Now the requirements engineers can begin refining the requirements within their RM tool using the UML information as a starting point.

The newly created requirements will then be transferred back to the correct position within the appropriate EA model according to corresponding UML elements.

All changes, such as the implementation progress of requirements, will be updated automatically. This way, all persons involved will have a clear and up to date project status at any time. Additionally, customers will achieve an extremely high degree of traceability for their development process.
